Community Navigator training
Do you support individuals in your community?
Do you provide information, advice or guidance to others? This free Community Navigator training will help you build the skills and confidence needed to support people in making informed decisions about their learning, work and wellbeing.
Throughout the programme, you will explore your own strengths and interests, use tools such as the careers chatbot CiCi, and develop a personal Career Action Plan while learning how to support others to do the same.
The programme can be delivered online or face-to-face within the workplace or at community venues, providing flexible learning opportunities to suit individuals and organisational needs.

This course is free and open to anyone who provides information, advice or guidance in a workplace, voluntary organisation, community setting or health setting.
It is particularly suitable for:
• Staff supporting groups and individuals in their community
• Staff working in voluntary and community organisations
• Community volunteers
• Individuals supporting residents with learning, employment or wellbeing needs
• Anyone interested in volunteering or supporting people within their community
By taking part in this programme, you will:
• Develop practical information, advice and guidance skills
• Increase your confidence in supporting others
• Explore personal strengths, interests and aspirations
• Learn how to use digital tools, including the careers chatbot CiCi
• Create a personal Career Action Plan

For online delivery, you will need:
• An internet-enabled device
• Access to the internet
If you do not have access to a suitable device, York Learning may be able to provide equipment for the training.
For community-based delivery, any additional requirements will be communicated by your tutor or host organisation.

This course is free of charge and open to anyone who provides information, advice or guidance, including those:
• Working in workplaces
• Working in voluntary or community roles
• Working in health or support settings
• Currently volunteering, or interested in volunteering, within their community

Please note that Adult Education funding is for individuals who are over the age of 19 on the 31st of August prior to the start date of their course.
