Painting & Drawing - Foundation 2D
Explore a range of approaches in painting and drawing in this mixed-ability evening class. Working with a variety of materials—including acrylics, watercolours, pastels, charcoal, and mixed media—you’ll develop practical skills while enjoying the freedom to experiment and express your creativity.

The course is structured around themed projects that explore the fundamentals of line, tone, composition, mark-making, and colour, while encouraging exploration of different materials and styles. Through tutor-led demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and group discussions, you’ll learn techniques inspired by a diverse selection of artists, gaining insight into their approaches and methods.

As the term progresses, there will be opportunities for experimentation allowing you to develop your own style and confidence at your own pace. By the end of the course, you’ll have a solid foundation in both drawing and painting, equipping you to continue your creative journey—whether in further classes or through your own personal practice at home.

Materials used will include acrylic paint, watercolour, pastel, charcoal, and mixed media.
