Mentoring Apprentices
This short, focused workshop is designed for workplace mentors who support apprentices, particularly those who are new to mentoring or want to strengthen their approach. Led by our Work Based Learning and IAG Curriculum Leaders, the session explores what effective mentoring looks like in real workplace settings and how mentors can positively shape an apprentice’s development, confidence, and long term success.
Through a blend of guided discussion, short case study activities, and practical examples, you will learn how to recognise and respond to individual apprentice needs, communicate clearly, set expectations and boundaries, and support apprentices in navigating workplace culture. The workshop also covers how to help apprentices problem solve, manage challenges, and build professionalism, while maintaining the understanding that apprentices are responsible for their own success, and mentors are there to guide.
Both face to face and virtual delivery options are available.
