Slow Stitch for Wellbeing
Hand stitching especially when using simple stitches like running stitch is thought to be a relaxing, de stressing activity. The repetition of hand movement, the concentration of the brain together with our favourite colour choices helps to calm us and let's us forget the rest of the world for a while!

These sessions will be friendly and informal, giving you as much support and guidance as you need. You will be able to work at your own pace whilst benefitting from the creative outcomes of the rest of the group. Whether you are a beginner or are an experienced sewer you will be able to create something that is beautiful and personal to you.

The aim is to produce a small fabric, zig zag book on the theme of plants and flowers. Each page will explore a different technique or stitch in either a traditional or contemporary style. You will learn some basic embroidery stitches and will be shown how to be creative with various transparent, patterned and textured fabrics. There will be pictures, sample pieces and templates to help you.
