Digital Functional Skills Entry Level 3
This course will provide you with an introduction to the basic essential digital skills needed to succeed in today's digital world. You'll learn how to use computers and the internet, communicate digitally, protect yourself online, and manage your digital life responsibly. By the end of this course, you'll be equipped with the basics of how to navigate the digital landscape with confidence. You will study the following 5 themes over the duration of the course.

Using Devices and Handling Information: You will develop a basic understanding of hardware, software, operating systems, and commonly used applications, learning to manage and store information, and identify and solve simple technical issues.
Creating and Editing: This area focuses on tasks such as creating simple documents, spreadsheets, or presentations, and editing digital content.
Communicating: You will learn how to communicate effectively using digital tools, such as email, social media, and online forums.
Transacting: This area covers skills related to making online purchases, managing bank accounts, and other financial transactions.
Being Safe and Responsible Online: You will learn about online safety, privacy, and responsible online behaviour.

This course is suitable for anyone who has very basic digital skills using a computer, but needs to improve their knowledge and confidence.

This course can lead to further study at higher levels.

We suggest you bring a pen and notebook to make notes. You will be working in an IT suite with computers - you are not expected to bring your own device.

This is a weekly course that requires regular attendance in order to learn, practise and develop all the skills requires to pass the assessment at the end of the course. The assessment is an online Entry Level three Digital Functional Skill nationally recognised qualification.
