Guitar 4 - Advanced
THIS IS A HYBRID COURSE - PLEASE SEE FURTHER DETAILS
Improve your guitar playing with Folk, Pop and Rock and very easy classical music. More advanced and faster than Level 3 but following a similar syllabus. Strong strumming is assumed and complex finger styles will be studied. The level of note reading and ensemble playing approaches Grade 3 standard, but is great fun when it all works together! Play comfortably in ensemble and play all the basic chords and their variations.

By the end of the course, you will feel comfortable playing all of the main chords and their variations, majors, minors and sevenths, reading simple guitar tabs and play in a simple ensemble

This course is for those who have completed ‘Guitar 3’ or who are very comfortable playing 15- 20 chords and can read music well. The course is taking a new direction this year. It is in two parts. Group 4 will join Group 3 who will have spent 30 minutes doing. preparatory work for the combined class.
The two groups always work together in the Summer Term and this is a continuation of that.

This is a hybrid course. This means you have a choice in how you participate. You don’t have
to decide now, in fact you can decide on a week by week basis depending on your personal
circumstances, eg weather, transport etc. You can either join the class in person at
Huntington School or from anywhere you like online via Zoom!

If you are attending in person please come to the community learning reception in the purple block and you will be shown where to go. Zoom login details will be sent to all learners in an email 24 hours before the course is due to start. (Please note, if you enrol less than 24 hours before a course starts, you will receive your
zoom code as soon as you enrol.) Please keep your Zoom code safe as you will need the same code if you decide to join the class online.

You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin. If you require help to download or use Zoom, please email ictskills@york.gov.uk at least a
week before your course starts and we will endeavour to provide assistance.

Please note there is no class during half term on 29th October 2024
