Green Wood Spoon Carving
This 3-hour session is an introduction to the engaging craft of spooncarving.

Initially, you'll be shown the axing out process as Dave demonstrates how to carve a cooking spoon blank. He'll also discuss wood choice and show you other styles of spoon.

You'll then be guided through the safe knife handling techniques as you carve a prepared cooking spoon blank.

Using two knives, the straight knife and the hook knive, you'll refine the overall shape, carve the bowl and learn how to carve a spoon from greenwood.

Dave is an experienced woodcarver and has been teaching spooncarving for 8 years.

The course is suitable for anyone interested in learning a new craft and acquiring safe knife skills in a relaxed environment.
