Dressmaking - Your Project, Your Pace
Enjoy the practical process of sewing and dressmaking in a relaxed, yet secure setting. So often, people have the best intentions to sew frequently, but then they get stuck on something specific and items remain unfinished.

You could make an item "from scratch" or use the opportunity to make alterations to existing clothes. You could even take apart an exisiting garment to make something new . . . . The world's your oyster!

These sessions have been specifically set up to enable existing and new learners to extend their dressmaking repertoire, making clothes that either they want to wear or they want to make for family and friends.

This mixed-ability setting enables learners to gain inspiration from their peers whilst obtaining essential knowledge and information from their tutor, thereby allowing them to move forward.

Please bring along your own project to work on during the sessions including pattern (if appropriate), fabric, thread and any other haberdashery items which may be needed on the day. Please also bring a basic sewing kit (including scissors, tape measure, pins etc). Pattern paper can be bought on the day for an additional cost of 60p per metre (cash only please).

We have 10 fully functioning sewing machines, two overlockers and a cover stitch machne at the venue , as well as steam irons, pattern drafting paper etc. However you can bring your own sewing machine along, so that you gain experience using it, if you prefer, as long as it is in good working order (and used with one of our PAT tested extension cables).
