Festive Nordic Hand Embroidery
This workshop will introduce you to Swedish Folk Art and help you create a beautifully unique, hand stitched piece of work which can be hung on the wall, put in a frame or even appliqued onto a cushion.

Traditionally, designs are symmetrical using images from nature such as flowers, leaves, birds, woodland creatures and horses. You can include Christmas trees and hearts for a festive feel. The shapes will be cut from felt in muted shades and appliquéd onto the background fabric.

Plenty of templates will be available to create your design. Simple running stitches can be used to sew your shapes on but if you are more experienced you may want to experiment with a variety of decorative stitches. Braid, buttons and ribbon can also be applied for further enhancement.
