Using AI (Artificial Intelligence) language tools (such as ChatGPT) to aid job searching
On this course you will learn some of the basics of how AI language tools work and have a chance to try out some of the freely available online tools

We will consider how these tools can be used to help with job searching and career development tasks, consider some of the ethical issues, and how we can make use of the tools in a responsible way.

There will be a number of practical exercises in which you will be able to try out different tools to carry out tasks such as summarising job descriptions, refining your CV, job applications and cover letter, personal development plan and to help prepare for interviews.

This course is for beginners to AI language tools.

Good general computer skills are essential for this course.

As the course will be delivered online (on Zoom and Google Classroom) you will need a computer or laptop (rather than a tablet or phone) internet access, microphone/ speakers (or headset). A pen and paper may be handy, so that you can make some notes.

No prior knowledge of AI tools is needed however you should have a good level of general IT skills. You should be confident with using the web. There will be some tasks/preparation to do between the two sessions to help tailor the course and maximise its usefulness.
