Portraiture - Understanding the Anatomy
In order to really grasp the study of portraiture it is incredibly helpful if you understand a little about human anatomy.

In this introductory workshop you will draw from, and study in detail, the structures and bones of the human head using plastic skulls for reference in the morning. Learners will be working from a life model in the afternoon to understand how the head's musculature supports facial features and determines a person's expression.

We will cover proportion, rotation of the head and underlying bony structures.

The tutor will explain things in easy to understand, accessible language.

By the end of the workshop you will have a range of sketches which will show an understanding of basic anatomy. You may never look at a head in the same way again!
