Thinking outside the box: Matchbox collage creation
In this workshop, you will create a fascinating, small-scale artwork using photography, collage and various mixed media.

We will start the workshop by looking at how the likes of Picasso and Braque introduced collage as an art form in the early 20th century, and in contrast to this, the tutor will also introduce you to modern day collage artists and the exciting collage community that is a vibrant and interesting world to be a part of today. Examples of matchbox collage creations will be available to see and inspire you.

You will be provided with a matchbox to use as a base for your creation, alongside printed images and newspapers/magazines and card/mountboard to work with and bring together in creative ways … the idea is to think outside the box!

Concluding with the final arrangement being fixed into place, you can then hand finish with pens and inks and various other mixed media.
