Oil Painting - Improve your Skills
This workshop will help take your oil painting to the next stage. We will build on the basics to tackle more advanced techniques and ideas. During the workshop you’ll be encouraged to try a range of approaches with the focus on developing your confidence and ambition. We will work from a selection of source imagery in different style and genres.

I’ll introduce new materials such as glazes and varnishes, cold wax, oil sticks and acrylic underpainting. We’ll look more deeply at adapting the consistency of the paint to use it wet-on-wet, impasto and experimentally. You’ll explore mark-making throughout the workshop to develop a more considered and confident approach in your work.

By the end of the workshop you’ll have a range of experimental studies to take home.
