Developing Skills in Floristry
This is a relaxed and enjoyable short course where you will be guided through a variety of skills and techniques associated with floristry.

Whether you are new to floristry or already have some experience, you will learn how to make beautiful bouquets, display flowers creatively in a vase and create floral displays suitable for a gift to enjoy at home or for an event.

You will learn how to select and care for various plant materials and how to use these in traditional, seasonal and contemporary designs.

You will be given advice about what type of containers and gift wrapping might be appropriate. You will also learn how to package and transport flowers to prevent damage and wire flowers to form more complex structures.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A FORTNIGHTLY CLASS.

This course is suitable for people relatively new to floristry or people with a some experience. Learners who have already completed this type of course may also enjoy
attending as the tutor introduces new and exciting ideas each week.

You may like to bring a note book to class.
All fresh flowers and foliage are included in the course fee for week 1. For the remaining sessions you may choose from where to source your flowers, foliage and sundries. You can source your own materials or ask the tutor to provide flowers, foliage and sundries for you. The cost of the second option will be approximately £22 per class.

For the first week you can either bring a round container with a diameter of approximately 10cm–15cm to display your flowers or if you do not have one and don't wish to purchase one

Please note that Adult Education funding is for individuals who are over the age of 19 on the 31st of August prior to the start date of their course.
