Multiply 3: Crochet Beginners
We will investigate the world of crochet - learning about yarn weight, crochet hook sizes and the importance of matching two to get a pleasing outcome.

Your tutor will guide you through the steps needed to create a basic chain, and then build on this to create squares that can be used for many projects - from blankets to jumpers and cushion covers.

We will learn many different stitches as the weeks progress and also look where to gain inspiration for new projects outside of the classroom.

This course is for people new to crocheting, or who haven't done any for a long time.

The course is funded by the Multiply project which means it is only eligible for people who don’t have a Level 2 maths qualification/GCSE grade C/4 or above.

For the first week the tutor will bring enough hooks and yarn for everyone - then she will discuss the best type of cost-effective yarn and hooks to buy for the rest of the course.

There will be no class on the 14th October.

We will be incorporating basic maths skills throughout the course to show you how maths is a part of everyday life, including in work and hobbies!

To find your classroom, please come to the York High School community reception by Energise sports centre, not the main school reception.
