Introduction to Floristry
Are you new to floristry or have a love of flowers? In this short course you will learn how to create a hand-tied bouquet, how to display flowers in a vase, package and how to wire flowers, as well as how to create a floral display suitable for a gift, to enjoy at home or for an event.

This is a relaxed and enjoyable course where you will be guided through some skills and techniques of floristry, such as the selection and care of suitable plant materials and their use in traditional, seasonal and contemporary designs. You will be guided through the process of identifying, selecting and using appropriate flowers and foliage, a variety of containers and gift wrapping.

This course is ideal if you have a love of flowers and are interested in enjoying flowers in your own home or possibly thinking of a career in floristry but would like to do a taster course.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A FORTNIGHTLY CLASS.

You may like to bring a notebook to class.

All fresh flowers and foliage are included in the course fee for week 1.
For the remaining weeks you will source your own flowers and foliage to take to the class. The tutor will inform you of any themes or designs that will be covered in the remaining weeks so you can purchase accordingly.
You may wish to bring your own floristry snippers to the class but the tutor will take some floristry tools that you are welcome to borrow during the class.

For the first week, you can either bring a round container with a diameter of approximately 10cm–15cm to display your flowers, or if you do not have one and don't wish to purchase one separately, then you may borrow one from the tutor and you will be asked for cash deposit of £5 which will be fully refundable once the container is returned.
