Web Development Steps 1: Web Design and Wordpress
WordPress.com lets you create beautiful websites and blogs. On this course you will create a basic WordPress.com site, create pages & posts, insert images, add navigation and use themes.

We will also cover web design basic principles including how to plan a site, the importance of design and user experience, web accessibility and search engine optimisation.

This course is for beginners to web page design and WordPress. Good computer skills are essential for this course and it is not for beginners to computing but for beginners to web page design.

As the course will be delivered online (on Zoom and Google Classroom) you will need a computer or laptop (rather than a tablet or phone) internet access, microphone/ speakers (or headset). You should be confident with using the web and managing files and folders.

It would be useful to keep a pad and pen to hand to make notes throughout the sessions.

You could progress to the next courses within our Web Development Steps series, onto further accredited provision with another local or online education provider or could start to design basic websites for work/other purposes linked to employment.

Please note that Adult Education funding is for individuals who are over the age of 19 on the 31st of August prior to the start date of their course.
