Yoga (Vinyasa)
This course aims to take you through the basics of Vinyasa Yoga.

We will start on the mat with breath work, introducing the system of asanas or Yoga postures that we will begin to work through. We will learn a basic Vinyasa flow - a sequence of poses strung together to create a flow facilitated by the breath.

We will repeat and come back to our basic Vinyasa throughout the structure of the class combining a variety of sitting and standing poses working on posture and building strength, flexibility and stamina.

We will finish each session with some deep stretches and a short meditation to ground the body and return to our breath work.

The course aims to build strength and flexibility, increasing our stamina and mobility, which aids in injury prevention and naturally improves physical fitness.

Alongside the physical benefits, Yoga at its core is a spiritual and sacred practice, which aims to calm the mind and connect us to our bodies and souls giving us the ability to better cope with the changes and challenges of everyday life.

This course is suitable for anyone wishing to learn Yoga from a total beginner through to to someone with experience looking to further deepen their knowledge.

It should be noted that Vinyasa is a dynamic style of Yoga in which we move almost continuously throughout the class and through asanas. Therefore, a general level of fitness is desirable. However, at its core, yoga is inclusive to all and anybody can practise.

This course provides a great workout and recreation or break from the stresses of daily life and is a great introduction to the practice of Vinyasa Yoga.

Please wear clothing in which you are comfortable moving and stretching. We recommend sports leggings or loose-fitting garments.

Yoga is also generally practised bare footed but please bring socks if you wish the wear them and also to keep warm during start and end of the class.

Please bring water and a yoga mat. You can also bring a yoga block and strap if desired but this is not necessary. Straps and blocks help with adjustments to poses so can be a great tool if you are perhaps newer to yoga.
