Beginners Sewing and Dressmaking
The aim of this course is for learners to build confidence and knowledge whilst learning a range of sewing skills.

If learners are at the start of their sewing journey, they can build a portfolio of samples and learn new techniques, before embarking upon the production of a simple garment.

Our tutor will start the course with a short, guided project/task in order to understand learners' prior knowledge. However, learners are encouraged to develop their own ideas as the course progresses.

All learners will:
- Create samples and learn techniques to assist with garment construction and/or soft furnishing items.
- Learn how to take measurements and chose the right patterns for your shape.
- Understand how to read patterns.
- Learn how to mark out and cut garments.
- Gain knowledge and skills to undertake basic alterations and repairs.
