How Children Learn English at School
Explore how English is taught at primary school today - from story-telling to spelling cards and from reading schemes to writing projects. We will unravel all the technical jargon and explore how and what children learn at different stages.

We will look at how your child can learn from different experiences, share engaging ideas and try out resources to help with your child's reading, writing and communication skills at home.
Stuck with homework? Bring it along to the class and we'll help you understand what the teacher is asking your child to do. If you're not confident about talking to your child's teacher about their progress, we will talk about this too.

This course takes place in the autumn term. The follow on from this, in January, is an opportunity to continue to develop your skills to support your child and also be able to complete an adult qualification in English for yourself. If you missed out on GCSEs at school, this is a great way to catch up.
