Absolute Beginners in Digital Skills
This course will guide you through the very basics of using a computer including understanding the keyboard and how to use a mouse. You will be introduced to using the internet to find information, and learn how to move around websites confidently. You will also learn how to compose and reply to an email.

You will use and recognise a computer system, including the desktop, as well as understand and identify common tools within browsers. You will learn to recognise icons, use scroll bars, menus and understand the difference from typing in a web address to typing in a search request.

This course is for absolute beginners who would like to learn the basics of using a computer or for those who would like to increase their confidence and feel safer online.

At the end of this course you will be able to switch on a computer, use the keyboard, mouse and access and browse the internet safely. There is a follow on course Essentail Digital Skills, if you wish to learn more about computers speak to your tutor to find out if this course would be suitable for you.
