Jewellery Making - Silver Earrings
In this workshop you will learn how to make earrings from sterling silver and copper (depending on your design). The metal we use is in sheet form. We will also use wire for the ear hoops.

You will learn how to anneal (soften) silver, cut (pierce), file, form and solder your metal, all of which forms the basics of silversmithing. Other techniques covered within the workshop include texturing and stamping, forming, making a hole and creating an ear hook.

You will then design your pair of earrings. We will practise first using copper and then progress on to use sterling silver.

Your tutor will talk through the tools used within the workshop and demonstrate all the steps and techniques.

By the end of this workshop you will have created a pair of sterling silver earrings or a mixed copper and silver pair, depending on your design.

You will also be given information on how to set up a jewellery making space within your home and a basic tools list for those who wish to continue jewellery making at home and within a budget.
