Drawing for Beginners at York Minster
This course focuses on drawing through the exploration of York Minster and its treasures. We will also work from the wonderful collection of artefacts located in the Old Palace.

Over the ten weeks, we will develop a range of skills in observational drawing through exploring these sources, looking in particular at line, tone, form and composition.

Lessons will include instruction on basic techniques, exploring the work of other artists and looking at the different approaches which can be taken in architectural-based drawing.

We will also explore how we can design and create more personal drawings using the Minster as a key source.

Teaching and learning will be based on a variety of methods, and these will include short tutor presentations, discussions, and one-to-one personalised guidance.

Throughout the course, learners will practise and experiment with techniques in a supportive and friendly environment.
