Pattern Cutting & Detailed Garment Construction (Summer Term)
This course will focus on making your own patterns/garments, as well as building a portfolio/sketch book of invaluable information and techniques within dressmaking and pattern cutting. We will look at innovative pattern cutting processes and suitable fabrics to create professionally finished garments.

You are welcome to work on your own project in class and help/advice will be on hand. Through weekly demonstrations, we will explore a variety of techniques, including fitting/altering your own patterns/commercial patterns to your own individual style and finishing garments to a professional standard, along with lots more to enhance your pattern cutting and dressmaking projects including zips, collars, cuffs and waistbands.

Additional benefits of the course: We regularly visit fabric shops/suppliers and hold a charity Dressmaking Showcase to display the wonderful work of the learners.
