Patchwork and Quilting - Beginners & Beginners Plus
Whether you are a complete beginner to patchwork and quilting or have some experience, this course is designed to guide you in developing your skills and create projects which are unique.

Through hands-on teaching, demonstrations and support from the tutor you will soon be using your new skills and knowledge to make a wide range of projects for yourself, your home, your friends and your family.

Learners are encouraged to develop their own ideas and projects as the course progresses.

This course is ideal for beginners as well as those with some existing knowledge, and it's an ideal follow-on course if you attended in the autumn & / or spring terms.

The course will provide you with the opportunity to further develop patchwork and quilting skills and try different techniques, which can be used in a project of your choice.

There are so many different and exciting ways of creating something which is beautiful and practical, and more importantly, something YOU have made.

The tutor will bring along samples of work she has done, and this will allow for discussion about colour and fabric choices.

We have a sustainability ethos and the using up of scrap fabric is very much encouraged.

During the course you will be using a rotary cutter, self-healing cutting boards and patchwork rulers to help you make patchwork pieces that you will be proud of.

The approximate amount for these items if bought new is around £25.00.

When you arrive at the school, please walk to the school's purple block entrance and a member of the York Learning team will be there to show you to your classroom.

Please note, the classroom is on the second floor of the school building. It is located at the rear of the school and is at a distance from the reception.
