Floristry Skills - Beginners and Improvers (includes flowers)
This is a relaxed and enjoyable short course where you will be guided through a variety of skills and techniques associated with floristry. Whether you are new to floristry or already have some experience, you will learn how to make beautiful bouquets, display flowers creatively in a vase and create floral displays suitable for a gift to enjoy at home or for an event.

You will learn how to select and care of various plant materials and how to use these in traditional, seasonal and contemporary designs, as well as discussing the type of containers and gift wrapping might be appropriate. You will also learn how to package and transport flowers to prevent damage and wire flowers to form more complex structures.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A FORTNIGHTLY CLASS.

Please bring a notebook and pen. All flowers and foliage are included in the course fee.

You can buy a container, borrow a container or bring your own to hold the displays you will make. For week 1, you may borrow a container or please bring a round container with a diameter of approximately 10cm–15cm.

These classes are every fortnight so the sessions will be delivered on 16th and 30th January, 20th February and 5th March. There is no class in half term week on the 13th February.

You may borrow or purchase a container to use. If you borrow a container you will be asked for cash deposit of £5 which will be fully refundable once the container is returned. If for any reason you cannot attend a class you can collect your flowers from the tutor at a mutually convenient time.

If your payment is either over £120 and the course is more than ten weeks, or for multiple courses with a total of more than £175 then you can spread the payment out. This is done via direct debit and is generally 3 payments spread over 4 months. The first payment must be made at the time of booking to confirm your place on the course. On occasion we are able to set up payment schedules over a longer period of time but this cannot extend beyond the end date of a course.
Please note: Once a direct debit is set up you must not cancel it unless you have been in contact with us first and we have confirmed that it is alright to do so. If you cancel without our permission you will immediately be invoiced for the full amount. It is important to understand that direct debit is not a method of paying for part of the course, just a way of spreading the full cost of the course over a number of months.
