Piano for Fun - Beginners and Beginners Plus
This course is designed to be a fun way of developing your piano playing, whether you are wanting to come back to playing or are a beginner building on the basic skills taught on the first course. Learn a new song each week to build up confidence in playing with two hands and adding chords to your melodies. We will learn to play by ear and by reading sheet music. The aims of this course are to develop confidence with the basics of playing piano, learn some new songs and to have fun while doing it.

This course is designed for beginners who attended the previous “Piano for Fun” course, but any beginner plus is welcome. So, if you have a little previous experience, this course is open to anyone who would like to learn to play a few tunes in a group setting.

This course leads to further stages of learning piano skills, which in turn could lead to work as professional musician.

Just bring a pen and a notebook to take notes. Music handouts will be provided for each session.

Please note that we will use keyboards to learn on rather than traditional pianos.

To find your classroom, come to the York High School Community Reception door by Energise sports centre, and not the main school reception.

Please note that there is no class 12th February as it is half term.
