Introduction to Coding (Skills Bootcamp)
This course will introduce you to the basics and principles of coding, it will allow you to obtain a unit certificate from NCFE Understand the principles of coding which covers coding languages, job functions in coding and understanding the software development lifecycle.

In addition you will develop a practical understanding of basic coding practices by using Scratch, a introductory platform which uses ‘pseudo code’ to demonstrate basic coding principles as well as a introduction to website coding using HTML, CSS and Javascript by creating a quiz.

This course is for beginners to Coding. Good computer skills are essential for this course, it is not for beginners to computing. A longer course which could lead in the future to additional training/qualifications taken with FE/HE for coding and/or to working within coding or in a sector where coding/software development plays a part

This is an online course that will be delivered via Zoom, so please ensure that you can access this on the device you are using. You will receive details and joining instructions of how to access the course shortly before the start date by email. You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin.

Attendance to both Tuesday and Thursday sessions are required for this course.
