Introduction to Data Analysis (Skills Bootcamp)
This course will introduce you to the basics and principles of data analysis, it will cover key concepts such as different types of data, ways of analysing and collecting data, basic statistical terms and legal and ethical considerations.

In addition you will develop a practical understanding of tools used for data analysis by using Excel to carry out tasks such as data cleansing, anonymisation and validation, working with lists, using relevant functions and formula and creating pivot tables. We will explore ways of visualising data including creating a variety of charts within Excel and also look at other methods and tools for data visualisation.

During the course you will also be introduced to coding for data analysis using Python.

This course is for beginners to data analysis however you should have good general computer skills and you will need to have Microsoft Excel on your computer. This course can lead to additional study and/or qualifications and could lead to a career in data analysis

The sessions will be delivered via Zoom and learners will also be able to access resources on Google Classroom.

If you complete the full Skills Bootcamp course you will automatically receive an invite to an informal interview which York Learning will organise. The interview will be with a company working within the digital sector linked to the subject material of your Bootcamp. You are under no obiligation to attend the interview, but it is part of the package offered. The interview is a chance for you to make contact with employers within the industry and discuss your next steps, with the possibility of offers of work if the employer feels you would be a suitable match to their organisation. Exact times and dates will be supplied after the end of the Bootcamp.
