Ceramics
A course to introduce you to the essentials in ceramics. You will learn how to make a pinch and coil pot, and make a pot using the slab construction method. You will also be shown how to decorate them using slips, as well as how to glaze a finished product.
Please note: This is a hand built pottery and ceramics course. Throwing will not be taught as there are not the facilities available

This class is a relaxing environment where you will learn how to create your own pots which you can then take home.

This course is suitable for anyone looking to gain skills in basic pottery and ceramics techniques.

This course provides skills for self-improvement, which could lead to further study/or a pathways towards self-employment as a working artist.

Clay and glazes are provided by the centre at an additional cost of £10.00 per student for each course.
Please wear old clothes, or an apron, and bring along a sketch/notepad and a pencil.
Please bring your own hand sanitiser and sanitiser wipes to each session.

To find your classroom, please come to the York High School Community Reception door at the bottom of the drive. The community reception door is located to the right of the Energise Sports Centre. (Please do not try to enter the school via the main school reception as it is closed.)
