Pilates for Improvers
This Pilates class is suitable for Improvers and is for individuals who have already learnt the principles of Pilates, to further improve posture, balance and alignment of the body. The six ]principles of Pilates are concentration, control, centre, flow, precision and breathing. You will learn to use your ‘powerhouse’, the centre of the body, which when strengthened offers a solid foundation for any movement.
This class will focus on core strength and train the body as an integrated whole. You will improve strength and balanced muscle development through Pilates exercise, as well as enhancing flexibility and increasing the range of motion in your joints.

For comfort, you may wish to exercise on a mat (which can be purchased for £5 - £10
from your local supermarket or online) and also have a small towel or cushion.
A resistance band can be incorporated into the exercises and provides an opportunity to explore working within a deeper range, particularly with regard to hip and spine mobility. A light resistance band is recommended, normally red, and costs approximately £5 (local supermarket or online).
