Painting & Drawing - Working Artists
This exciting course is designed for learners who are already painting and drawing but want to develop their practice further with the support of a friendly class and guidance of a professional artist-tutor.

All learners work on developing their own self-directed projects and ideas, working in an array of 2D media such as oil painting, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media. Your tutor will guide you on areas such as how to develop a painting from an initial idea to a final piece, creating strong compositions and being more confident in handling your materials.

This course also offers professional development for those learners taking steps to exhibit and sell their work. We cover exhibition applications, documenting and photographing your work, social media for artists and the presentation and pricing of your work.

You will need to provide your own art materials and bring them to each class. What you bring will depend on you are working on and you’ll be given lots of advice about art materials throughout the course and guided on what to buy.

To help develop a professional approach, you will be encouraged to keep a sketchbook/notebook. Suggested art materials include paper/sketchbooks, drawing materials (charcoal, pastels, pen etc.) and paints such as acrylic, watercolour or oils.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to paint in traditional oil paint during the course, you must use a low-odour solvent.
