Italian Intermediate
(Please note: the time and the price of this course are different in the Learning for Everyone brochure. The details on this web page are the correct ones.)

This is a blended course based on 7 online (1 hour) zoom sessions, plus 3 face-to-face (2 hours) sessions at Huntington Community Centre. This course follows on from last year's Italian Year 5 course.

We will start the course talking about holidays and travel choices describing and discussing the pros and cons of your personal preferences and activities.

The aim is to become more familiar with the use of past tenses to discuss previous holidays, the conditional tense for what you would like to do and the future tense for a project or a future plan. We will also explore aspects of Italian art and culture.

You will acquire new vocabulary and a deeper understanding of the structure of the language, with emphasis on accuracy of pronunciation. You will learn by listening, reading texts, doing a variety of exercises and practising in role play situations.

This course is for anyone interested in building on previously learned Italian. Ideally you will have studied Italian for the last five years or to an intermediate level or A level in the past.

This course provides skills for self improvement, which could lead to further study in the subject leading to work as a translator/interpreter.

You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin.
