Floristry Skills - Beginners and Improvers
Whether you are new to floristry skills or returning, enjoy this short course learning to create bouquets, display flowers in a vase, package and wire flowers, and create a floral display suitable for a gift, to enjoy at home or for an event. (NB first weeks flowers and other fresh materials are included in the course fee)

This is a relaxed and enjoyable course where you will be guided through some skills and techniques of floristry, such as selection and care of suitable plant materials and their use in traditional, seasonal and contemporary designs. You will identify, select and use appropriate foliage, a variety of containers and gift wrapping, also considering suitable transportation methods.

Don’t be deterred if you are not new to floristry as our talented tutor can challenge and extend the most accomplished learners! If you choose to sign up for both 4-week courses, you will extend your skills as all 8 sessions will be unique.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A FORTNIGHTLY CLASS.

Please bring a notebook and pen. All flowers, foliage, flower foam, packaging etc. will be provided by the tutor at an average cost of £20 per week depending on the design and materials used. You can, however, bring your own if you wish.

You can buy a container, borrow a container or bring your own to hold the displays you will make. For week 1, you may borrow a container or please bring a round container with a diameter of approximately 10cm–15cm.

These classes are every fortnight so the sessions will be delivered on 24/1, 7/2, 28/2 and 21/3.

If you would like to do a class every week, you could enrol on Joanna's first class BT2/HH9 and those sessions are 17/1, 31/1, 21/2 and 7/3

The cost of the first week’s fresh materials is included in your course fee. You may borrow or purchase a container to use. If you borrow a container you will be asked for cash deposit of £5 which will be fully refundable once the container is returned. You will also be asked each week if you would like the tutor to provide materials for the following week. If you would like to order flowers you will be asked to pay for the materials a week in advance so please bring cash with you or you can pay by BACS. The tutor will give you BACS details at week 1’s lesson. If for any reason you cannot attend a class you can cancel your flower order if 5 days notice is given or you can collect your flowers from the tutor at a mutually convenient time. (There is also the possibility of attending an alternative date so you can still attend all the sessions.)
