Dressmaking - Just for Beginners
The aim of this course is to help learners build confidence and knowledge when learning basic sewing techniques. Designed for beginners, the course will also equip individuals with the skills necessary to make simple garments and alterations:-

- How to thread up and operate a machine.
- Which needles should be chosen for which job.
- How to sew and when to use different seams.
- How to select and read patterns.
- How to select the correct fabric to make a garment.
- How to construct your own simple garment.

Learners will produce a small file of samples and notes for future reference/personal sewing projects. We will also make a basic garment to wear.

If time allows, learners can start their own project.
