This course is for students who have some previous knowledge of German at A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) or those who have done the German Year 2 course.

It is taught online. You will need a computer, laptop or tablet and an internet connection.

The course is for anyone interested in continuing to learn German for holiday, work or leisure. The terms run consecutively, so if you wish to join the course in the second or third term, some previous knowledge of some of the areas taught in the preceding term/terms would be an advantage.

If you are unsure which level of course you should join, please email us at york.learning@york.gov.uk and we will pass on your query to the appropriate tutor.

It is advisable that you have paper and pen (an exercise or notebook would be ideal) beside your computer to make notes or to download a copy of the weekly PowerPoint presentations, so that you can add your own comments to the lecture notes. You could also make notes in a Word document.

*Please do not purchase any course books until after the first session, or until it is confirmed that the course is definitely going ahead.
