Oil Painting - All abilities
Have you ever tried oils and not got on with them, or been at a loss at to where to start? Well, this course will give you the foundations and understanding needed to get the best from oil paints and develop your skills. We’ll cover the basics of materials and equipment, and also look at a range of different techniques and methods of working. There will be lots of demonstrations and practical tasks for you to have a go at, and as you develop you will have the opportunity to try out your own ideas and experiments. There will also be lots of opportunities for you to share your work and get feedback during the class. Prosp User 3
This course if for those who have never used oils before, and also for those who may be using oils already but would benefit from a structured and comprehensive refresher course led by a professional artist. Prosp User 4
You will be emailed a materials list before the course, and you will be able to contact the tutor directly if you have any questions about materials or what to buy. In brief you will need oil paints, palette, low-odour solvent, bristle brushes, oil-painting paper. Please bring a sketchbook and pencil for taking notes.
PLEASE NOTE: some people can be sensitive to oil paints and solvents, so please check that you are ok to use them before you start the course.
