Drawing the Museum Gardens
This workshop will use the garden as a source of inspiration for drawings in our sketchbooks. The York Museum Gardens is a botanical garden which contains a large variety of trees, plants and birds.

Within this workshop, we will immerse ourselves in the study of the subject. Students will be helped to make their own strategies for working in situ. We will discover how drawing outside heightens our senses, sharpens our focus and resets our approach to capturing a sense of place. Looking closely at the rhythms, shapes, and characters of the Museum Gardens, alongside the structure of the ruins of St. Mary’s Abbey, The Multangular Tower and the Roman Wall, will help us create order in our drawings.
