Spanish Advanced
*Due to the newly planned Bank Holiday on Monday 19th September to mark the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this course will now start and end a week later than originally planned. The course will now start on Monday 26th September and finish on Monday 5th December.

In this course we are going to improve the advanced Spanish language skills that you already have. We will focus on oral communication, but we will also practise reading and writing skills. During the course, we will study in-depth the use of advanced structures in Spanish, like “pretérito perfecto de subjuntivo” and structures to make speech more cohesive. You will read different types of text, watch videos without subtitles and play games, and we will discuss different and interesting questions.

If you have enjoyed Term 1, and would like to continue with your Spanish learning, the following will be covered in Terms 2 and 3:

TERM 2: We are going to describe actions, movements and the locations of objects and people. We will also express deep feelings using complex temporary constructions, such as “al + infinitive” and pronominal verbs.

TERM 3: We will focus on the expression of intentionality and objectives, using some sophisticated structures in Spanish such as “para + infinitive” and further exploring the differences between “subjuntivo” and “indicative”.
