Spanish Year 5
This is an engaging Spanish Language course in which you will learn how to participate in more complex conversational situations, such as asking and giving permission, requesting favours and providing excuses. You will also talk about leisure activities that you have enjoyed doing in the past and in the present, and you will learn how to express intentions and projects that you will undertake in the future.

Regarding grammar, this term focuses on how to learn the conditional tense, some uses of the “gerundio”, and the structure “ir a + infinitive”. You will also learn new uses of the “Preterito Perfecto” tense.

If you enrol for terms 2 and 3, we will cover the following in the spring and summer terms in 2023:

TERM 2: You will learn how to talk about food that you like and don’t like, and also how to describe a recipe. Additionally, we will talk about past experiences, focusing on the difference between “Pretérito Perfecto” y “Pretérito Indefinido”.

TERM 3: In this term we are going to learn how to give advice, and will explore more differences between “SER Y ESTAR”. We will also learn a new past tense: “el pretérito imperfecto”.

The Year 5 course is based on the communicative approach, so you are going to learn through the context itself, by simulating real situations and also playing games, watching videos, reading texts and much more.
