Spanish for Beginners - An Introduction
*Due to the newly planned Bank Holiday on Monday 19th September to mark the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this course will now start and end a week later than originally planned. The course will now start on Monday 26th September and finish on Monday 5th December.

In this course you will learn very basic Spanish speaking skills, including how to say hello and goodbye, numbers, the alphabet, personal pronouns, and the masculine and feminine in Spanish. You will also learn the basics of present tense conjugations in Spanish.

If you enjoy Term 1, you can enrol for terms 2 and 3, and this is what you will cover:

TERM 2: You will develop your capacity to speak in the present tense using the three conjugations in Spanish, and you will learn some basic uses of the verbs “ser” and “estar”. You will learn to talk about the weather and some vocabulary about geography and interesting tourist places.

TERM 3: This course is focused on practising conjugation in the present tense (regular, irregular and reflexive) and making it more intuitive. You will also learn “el verbo gustar” and a wide range of vocabulary for describing people and daily routines. You will also learn about the time and expressions of frequency.

When you will finish the course, you will be able to understand some basic Spanish texts in present tense and some general descriptions.

All of the activities are planned to facilitate engagement with the Spanish language, including watching videos, reading short and understandable texts, playing games and practising the language with members of your class.
