Yoga For All
This course aims to help you enjoy your personal yoga practice, helping to focus the mind, release tension and enable you to feel more supple and relaxed.
Through tutor demonstration and guidance, learners will practice a variety of postures and breathing techniques. The course is designed to introduce learners to a system of ASANA (posture work), breathing practices, concentration/meditation and relaxation.

Course Outcome:
You should gain increased flexibility and strength, develop breath awareness, understand the basic theory and philosophy of yoga and use the skills you learn to help you cope with the challenges of daily life.

This course is suitable for all levels, including those with no experience of Yoga, however, a general level of health and fitness is desirable. Prosp User 4
Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing and you will need a Yoga mat (approx £10 -£15), a cushion or block (approx £4) and an extra layer or blanket for relaxation sessions.

You may bring your own hand sanitiser and sanitiser wipes to each session if you wish.

As we are not qualified healthcare professionals, by participating in one of our online courses you agree to take full responsibility for your own health, wellbeing and safety.

If you have any health problems or difficulties that you suffer from which you feel may impact on your ability to participate in this class please email york.learning@york.gov.uk with the class you will be attending (title/code/tutor) and we will forward this onto the relevant tutor who will, if they feel it appropriate, contact you before your first class to discuss this with you.
