Drawing & Painting: Exploring Colour
In this course we will explore the fascinating effects of colour in drawing and painting in order to produce vibrant and expressive work. We will look at how colour can be used to effect the mood and emotion of a painting.
Through looking at images by a wide range of artists, and learning some simple colour theory we will experiment with bringing these ideas into our own work. The course will cover a range of subject matter, landscape, the figure, still life, as well as abstraction. Learners will be encouraged to use some of their own photographs and ideas to create a piece of work.
Teaching and learning will be based on a variety of methods including tutor presentation and one-to-one personalised guidance. Learners are encouraged to experiment and try out new ideas. This is a fun opportunity to explore the concept of 'colour' through drawing and painting, and to experiment with different techniques within a relaxed and encouraging environment.
