Painting & Drawing
This is a practical art class where you will cover a range of different techniques and methods of drawing and painting. Each online session will comprise of tutor-led discussions, demonstrations by your tutor and practical tasks that you do at home. There will be lots of opportunities for you to share your work and get feedback during the class.

Your tutor will demonstrate various approaches including watercolours, acrylic and a range of drawing materials such as charcoal and pastels. You will try a range of themes and techniques, from figurative work to abstract. You will also be encouraged to share your work with the group during the lesson and there is an online resource pinboard, where you can post images of your work and access useful class resources.

This course is suitable for learners who want to develop their confidence and skills in a general painting and drawing class. You will be encouraged to experiment and try new approaches during each lesson as well as develop your own ideas at home. Prosp User 4
Bring your sketchbook and some materials to each session – your tutor will give you full guidance on what materials you will use during the first session. Ideally, you’ll have range of materials at home, though the course is flexible so you will always be able to join in. Prosp User 5

This is an online course that will be delivered via Zoom, so please ensure that you can access this on the device you are using.

You will receive details and joining instructions on how to access the course by email about 24 hours before the course is due to start. If you enrol later than this, the Zoom code will be emailed to you on the day that your course starts. The Zoom code login and password you receive will be the same for every class this term.

You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin.

If you require help to download or use Zoom, please email ictskills@york.gov.uk at least a week before your course starts and we will endeavour to provide assistance.

Please ensure that you read and understand the health and safety guidelines on any creative product or tools that you intend to use during the course, before the first class.
