You will learn how to express obligation and permission, express impersonality and use the past, present and future tenses. You will also learn social customs, values and traditions in Spain and South America and a range of new vocabulary about work and school. You will read varied texts, watch videos, play games and listen to audio in Spanish. Prosp User 3
This course will be entirely in Spanish. You must have studied Spanish recently and for at least 4 years or you must have studied an A level in Spanish.

In general, you should already be able to talk about yourself and others, describe events and situations in present and past tense, make recommendations, give advice, express likes and dislikes and explain duration. You should also understand simple verbal periphrasis in Spanish.

No session 2 June 2022 (half-term holidays).

When attending a course, learners will be expected to conform with the COVID-19 guidance in place at each venue. This may include using face coverings, cleaning your own work area and bringing your own refreshments etc. and will reflect the national COVID-19 guidance at the time. We ask that you please bring your own hand sanitiser and sanitiser wipes to each session for your own personal space.

We would ask all learners to take a Lateral Flow Test prior to attending each session of a course. Free lateral flow home testing kits are available from chemists. Click here to view more information about testing options on the CYC website: Symptom-free coronavirus testing – City of York Council. Please note, we cannot enforce testing and it cannot be assumed that all learners will have complied with this request.

Face-to-face delivery may need to switch to online delivery if COVID-19 guidelines change or if the tutor can’t teach a session face-to-face for any reason. If this situation occurs, then refunds cannot be given. Please note that you might get very short notice of this so please check your emails on the day of the course.

The library has limited parking. There is a small car park shared with library users, including a couple of spaces for blue-badge holders. Alternatively, you can park at Morrisons supermarket, which is a couple of minutes' walk down the road. Bus number 1, 4 and 5 from the train station stop outside the library. There are also bike racks available. When you enter the library into the café area, you will see your classroom immediately to your left.
