Woodwork - an introduction
Learners will produce a small wooden product to take home at the end of the 6-week course. The course will be conducted in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure placed on the learners as everybody needs to work at their own pace and to their own ability level.

During the course you will be shown a variety of hand and machine skills, with the option of producing the project by use of hand tools or incorporating some of the woodworking machinery available in the workshop. This can help speed things along, but it is optional. Wood joints, tool use and sharpening will be covered, as well as where to source appropriate items. In addition, construction skills including gluing, clamping and different wood finishes will form part of the course.

At the end of the 6 weeks, you will take home your completed product, for yourself or maybe to use as a gift for family or friends.
