Level 2 Certificate in Counselling
This one year part time qualification is designed to give you the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of helping roles. It is also the first step towards becoming a fully qualified counsellor within the CPCAB qualifications structure. Prosp User 3
This qualification is for anyone who wishes to:
• Start the first level of training as a professional counsellor
• Learn how to use counselling skills effectively
• Improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development
This qualification could lead to employment or increase employability for those whose role is to support others in e.g. health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, other helping roles. It provides additional skills for those already in employment likely to lead to increased opportunities for promotion and advancement. On successful completion of this course you will be able to progress to the CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies with York learning.

You will need an A4 folder, notebook and a pen(s) and a willingness to participate in group discussion. You may also be required to complete an interview with the course leader. Also essential - GCSE English at A-C or equivalent, good computer skills and access to a computer and the internet. There is a requirement to complete 2-4 hours of independent study per week outside of the taught sessions. This course will be mainly delivered using the zoom platform. You will be sent details before the first session. You may be required to attend some sessions in person at The Centre@Burnholme, Mossdale Ave, York YO31 0HA. There are no taught sessions in the school holidays.
