The Place Where I Live - Workshop
Participants on our Community Arts workshops are often asked to contribute to, large scale, group pieces. The format of the work is always designated beforehand and the materials, prescribed, in order that the piece works as a "whole".

Our current project “The Place Where I Live” asks people to design and draw a section of our York Map. We are trying to complete the work by the end of September, ready for an exhibition in October - November. Each person who attends a workshop will be asked to complete a small section, using only black fine liner. There will be a wealth of visual resources available to help you complete your piece. However, we would like an imaginative response and are keen for people to incorporate their own original ideas… so feel free to bring images along. People, buildings, graffiti, mythical beasts…the world is your oyster!

The workshops are suitable for anyone who has an interest in art and in particular, enjoys creating pieces of art with other people!
In these particular workshops, we will be drawing in pencil and fine liner only and working on quite a small scale, so if you like this sort of work, then these workshops are ideal.

There are no additional costs for this workshop, but please bring a sharp pencil and/ or any black fine liners if you have them. Prosp User 5
This course takes place in the Garden Room at the central library in York. It is a ground floor classroom. Please note that the library has no parking available. There are sometimes a couple of available parking slots for people with a blue badge directly outside the library but these are City of York Council owned, and not library owned, and cannot be relied on to be available. There are bike racks and a number of buses that stop nearby. Prosp User 6
