High and Low Impact Interval Training (Adult Learning in York Week)
We hope you’ll enjoy this Adult Learning in York Week taster session.

This introductory workshop is a great opportunity to try out interval training. Whether you wish to work at a high or low intensity, our experienced instructor will help you to work at your own pace and within your own range.

You will improve your overall fitness level as you enjoy a varied session which will include:

- A cardio/aerobic warm-up to lubricate the joints and elevate the heart rate;
- Strength-based exercises using your own bodyweight, a band or light weights to tone and sculpt;
- Abs and core work to define the waist and abdominal muscles;
- Stretch and refresh to improve overall flexibility and support post-class recovery.

Modifications are shown throughout but participants will need to be comfortable working through a range of motions including forward, back, side to side, standing, seated, kneeling and lying down. Where a particular position is not suitable for you, you will be supported with an alternative exercise. Prosp User 4
Please make sure you have a suitable space available to exercise in where you will be able to see your screen easily and safely. It is advisable to wear a supportive pair of trainers, a sports bra – if applicable, light exercise clothing and have water and a mat available. A resistance band, weights or tins of beans may be useful. Prosp User 5
