Laptops for Beginners - Discover and Do - Blended Delivery
The course will guide you through how to operate the laptop with ease, find suitable apps to do the jobs you need to do. You will be shown how to keep your documents safe and how to save them correctly. Use some of the features that you may not know you have, all in a friendly environment. By the end of the course you should be able to use the laptop with confidence and have a better understanding.
The course will be delivered on alternate weeks at Burnholme Explore and via Zoom. Weeks 1, 3 and 5 will be face to face at Burnholme Explore and weeks 2, 4 and 6 will be via Zoom.

If you are unsure about how to use your laptop, just need a refresher on what to do or have just bought a Windows 10 laptop and find it baffling then this is the course for you. Prosp User 4
To the face to face sessions, bring your own fully charged laptop with Windows 10 loaded, a notebook and pen. For the Zoom sessions, we suggest having Zoom open on a device which is NOT your Windows 10 machine (eg a tablet or smartphone) Prosp User 5

Please ensure that you can access Zoom on the device you are using. You will receive details and joining instructions on how to access the course shortly before the start date by email. If you require help to download or use Zoom, please email ictskills@york.gov.uk at least a week before your course starts and we will endeavour to provide assistance.

You will need to join Zoom five minutes before your session is due to start and remain in the “waiting room”. Your tutor will then admit you to the class once your session is ready to begin.
